Moon Tile
The art piece is visual representation of the path the light takes as it leaves the sun, reflects of the moon, and is observed by a human standing on the earth’s surface. Process: Research, sketching, 3D CAD, and 3D printing in plaster.
The work is part of the Moon Art Project that will soon be blasted from Cape Kennedy by a Space X Falcon 9 rocket on a on way mission to the lunar surface . After landing I can say with straight face, I have art on the moon.
Exploring the fine line between material limitations of forming gelatin shapes and the infinite detail of fractal geometry. Process: Sketching, CAD model, vacuum form mold, chilling gelatin in mold, releasing gelatin from mold on platter.
Fractal gelatin mold
Fused glass artwork is a hobby of mine. I enjoy balance of technical knowledge required (kiln temperature profile, glass reactions when heated) and creative process of making a great design. The pictures shown are some of my favorite pieces of glass art I created.
